It’s time to get out and have fun in the sun! Beautiful summer weather is here to stay in Delaware, and Chestnut Run Village encourages our community members to enjoy the outdoors this June. From relaxing to celebrating, there is plenty to do right here in Wilmington!

Having fun and enjoying your summer is incredibly important, but try something different this June and volunteer. An important aspect of volunteering is finding something you enjoy doing and are passionate about. For those passionate about the environment and clean water, sign up for the Volunteer Shell Bagging Event. Oyster shells are important for the entire aquatic ecosystem, this event collects oyster shells into bags so that they are easier to transport and use on restoration projects. This shell bagging volunteering event takes place on June 17th from 9:30 am – 1 pm at PDE Shell Recycling Area North Church St. Wilmington, DE.

After doing something for the Earth, do something fun for yourself. Enjoy the 36th Annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival. With music dedicated to honoring the dynamic trumpet player, this free music festival will feature a host of performers playing tribute. There will also be plenty of food vendors and merchants at Rodney Square. The 36th Annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival takes place June 24th from 3 pm – 11 pm at Rodney Square 1000 North Market Street Wilmington, DE 19801.
