As the winter thaws into spring, the grounds tend to get a little bit soggy. That’s where the term “Amish Mud Sale” comes from, that in-between time in early spring. That’s typically when the Amish community holds these special sales as fundraisers for volunteer fire companies, just as they have for many years. This year’s Amish Mud Sales are already well underway, and they’re open to the public, so come check them out.

Most of them take place now through May at various locations near Creekside South Apartments, so check out the upcoming schedule and pencil in a visit. The sales include multiple simultaneous auctions of handmade Pennsylvania Dutch goods, from traditional quilts and furniture to fresh produce and baked goods. If you’re not interested in bidding, you might still want to come out to try some of the farm-fresh food for sale!
