Frequently Asked Questions
Who do I use as my real estate agent?
Berger Rental Communities maintains a network of Preferred Agents that you can use to facilitate a real estate transaction. An agent/brokerage that does not have an agreement with Berger Rental Communities cannot be used in conjunction with this program.
How do I get in touch with my real estate agent?
Simply ask the leasing office at your community for contact information for their Preferred Agent(s). Upon contacting the agent, they will be familiar with the program and start the home search process with you.
How much notice do I need to give to break my lease?
The Home Purchase Freedom notice period is 60 days. This notice will need to be accompanied by a signed Agreement of Sale for the house you intend to purchase.
What if my real estate transaction gets delayed?
Contact the leasing office at your community as soon as you identify a need to extend your notice period. While Berger Rental Communities cannot guarantee an extension will be granted, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
