Plan a Potluck to Remember With These Pro Tips

Plan a Potluck to Remember With These Pro Tips

Thinking about hosting friends and family for a dinner party at your apartment at Chestnut Run? We have a suggestion: Go with a potluck! With the weather warming up, this type of casual dinner party — in which every guest brings their own dish to share — is a fitting option. Here are a few tips!

  • Along with your invitation to the potluck, include a link to a shared document (Google Docs, for example). List a few different food categories (think salad, appetizer, main, dessert…) and have everyone sign up for a dish. Remember to include how many people will be attending so that your guests can bring the appropriate amount of food.
  • Clear a table so that there's plenty of room to accommodate all of the bowls, dishes, and trays that your guests will be bringing.
  • Set up a second table for drinks, cups, utensils, napkins, and so on.
  • You might request your friends to bring their own plasticware for leftovers! Or you could supply some yourself.
