With spring right around the corner, we're looking forward to warmer weather, longer days, and more selection at the produce stand! There's no shortage of amazing farmers' markets here in PA, so if you want to make the most out of your visit, here's a handy guide to produce that's in season now.

  • Asparagus. Looking to add a side of greens to your dinner? Asparagus tastes best from March through June.
  • Peas. Choose smaller pea pods, as they tend to be sweeter. Use your peas within a few days of bringing them home.
  • Radishes. Add some color and crunch to your salads with radishes. Before bringing them home, squeeze the radish to ensure it's firm and not squishy.
  • Carrots. Go for carrots in a deep, saturated hue, and store them in your crisper drawer in a perforated plastic bag.
  • Artichokes. Reach for artichokes with tightly packed leaves that are plump, not shriveled.
