Over the past few challenging months, there was one place that was never closed: the great outdoors. And as more and more normal activities continue to resume across Pennsylvania, Canoe Creek State Park near Walton Heights is also getting back into the groove of everyday life. That means the beaches are open (with some limitations), as are camping rentals and visitor center exhibit halls.

You’re asked to bring a mask with you and follow social distancing guidelines when you visit Canoe Creek State Park. It should be pretty easy to keep at least six feet between yourself and other guests since the park encompasses a sprawling 961 acres. About 155 acres of that space is dedicated to a lake, where you can go fishing or swimming in designated areas. The rest of the park features fields, forests, and wetlands where you can go hiking, camping, or picnicking.
